PhD (Chemistry) Leading Researcher
Born September, 13, 1943. Graduated from Tomsk Polytechnic Institute, Physical and Technical Faculty, in 1966, specialising in the technology of rare and dispersed elements.
In 1990, the dissertation “Investigation of extraction with phenols, monocarboxylic acids and their salts” has been defended on specialty 05.17.02 – chemical technology of rare, dispersed and radioactive elements. The work was carried out at the “Hydrotsvetmet” Institute of the Ministry of Non-Ferrous Metallurgy of USSR (Novosibirsk) and at the Institute of Chemistry and Chemical Technology of the Siberian Branch of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (ICCT SB AS, Krasnoyarsk). The work consisted of a study of the extraction of rare alkali metals with alkylphenols and monocarboxylic acids; an investigation into the extraction of non-ferrous and rare metals with mixtures of alkylphenols, monocarboxylic acids and their salts; development of new extraction methods for the recovery and separation of non-ferrous and rare metals and their application in industry. The academic rank of Senior Research Scientist in Metallurgy of Non-Ferrous and Rare Metals was given in 1998.
At present, I. Fleitlikh is a Leading Researcher of Laboratory of hydrometallurgical processes at the ICCT SB RAS. Research interests are chemistry and technology of solvent extraction of non-ferrous and rare metals. Among the most sounding results, the recovery of indium from zinc sulphate solutions as well as for the separation of Mn from Co, with mixtures of di(2-ethylhexyl)phosphoric acid and monocarboxylic acids were studied and the process flowsheets were developed.. The first flowsheet was commercialized at the Chelyabinsk Electrolyte Plant, the second one - at Norilsk MMC. Currently, I. Fleitlikh explores extraction of Co, Ni and Zn with bis(trimethylpentyl)dithiophosphinic acid and its extractant mixtures.
Total number of scientific articles – 170. These include 35 articles published in Russian peer review journals and 17 articles published abroad.
